Honoring the Legacy of Margie Wright
The Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas is holding both grief and gratitude as we remember Margie Wright, former Executive Director. Margie’s leadership shaped SCC in lasting ways. Her compassion, vision, and deep belief in human connection strengthened our programs, guided our staff and volunteers, and helped extend support to countless people in moments of crisis, grief, and pain.

It is with deep respect and profound sadness that we share the passing of Margie Wright, former Executive Director of the Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas.
Margie was a dedicated leader whose compassion, vision, and commitment strengthened the foundation of our organization and expanded the reach of our mission. Throughout her tenure, she worked passionately to ensure that individuals in crisis had a place to turn for hope, understanding, and support. Her leadership shaped essential programs and left an enduring impact on the countless lives touched by our services.
Margie often reminded us:
“Every person who reaches out is trusting us with their most vulnerable moment. We must meet that moment with compassion.”
Her words continue to guide our work and reflect the heart of her legacy.
As I step into the role of Executive Director, I do so with deep gratitude for the path Margie laid before us. Her vision continues to inspire our mission, and I am committed to honoring her legacy by advancing the work she championed with such heart and conviction.

Margie passed away on May 22, 2026. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones. As we learn more about any celebration of life arrangements, we will share those details with our community. At this time, no public announcements have been made.
We honor Margie’s memory with gratitude for her service and with a renewed commitment to the mission she believed in so deeply.
Community Support That Keeps the Mission Moving
Community support has always been at the heart of the Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas.
As we continue providing crisis intervention, support groups, community education, and outreach programs, we are exploring new fundraising opportunities that bring people together while supporting mental health services throughout our community.
We would love to hear your ideas.
We welcome suggestions for events like tastings, gallery shows, golf tournaments, theater nights, community gatherings, or any other creative ideas that connect people and support SCC’s mission.
Some of the most personal fundraisers begin with a story.
In 2025, one community member who is a master brewer created a beer in memory of his brother and their relationship. A portion of the proceeds benefited SCC. It was a meaningful way to honor someone he loved while helping provide support for others in crisis.
These kinds of efforts matter. They help sustain the programs, outreach, volunteer support, and crisis support services that allow SCC to continue meeting people with compassion during some of life’s most difficult moments.

Art With Purpose: Supporting Mental Health Through Creativity
We are grateful to artist Paris Love for partnering with SCC through a special community art event, Art With Purpose.
This exhibit brings together creativity, community, and compassion in support of mental health services across North Texas. Through this partnership, 25% of proceeds from artwork sales will be donated to the Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas.
These contributions help sustain programs that individuals and families rely on every day, including our crisis line, support groups, community outreach efforts, educational programs, and crisis support services.
Art has a unique ability to spark conversation and encourage reflection. We are honored that Paris Love has chosen to use her work to support mental health awareness and crisis support services in our community.
