Crisis Intervention Training

volunteer crisis trainingLearn how to respond effectively. Our staff is available to provide training to professional groups that may need to learn effective crisis intervention skills. We provide consultation to groups such as school counselors, hospital staff, social workers, and undergraduate and graduate classes at local universities. If more in-depth training is needed, we encourage participation in our ten-week course.

Testimonial: “I continue to be grateful for all the help our family received from the center. I have no doubt that it saved our lives!”

The Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas provides training on the crisis model to hostage negotiators through our ten-week crisis intervention course. The Dallas, Allen, Plano, Frisco, and Garland Police Departments have been trained to work on the crisis line. The training enables the officers to handle high-intensity crises talking through an alternative to suicide in the most effective manner.

Testimonial: “I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the support and professionalism of the Suicide and Crisis Center. My journey through this incredibly difficult time has been profoundly impacted by the care and dedication of your team. I have just completed the eight-week program led by Karen, and I cannot adequately express how thankful I am for this experience. Losing my son recently has been one of the most challenging experiences of my life. The conversations we had were nothing short of incredible—almost magical. It was certainly one of the most emotional and healing experiences I have ever had. The professionalism and compassion I encountered have made it clear to me that this group is the premier counseling center in North Texas for those who have lost a loved one to suicide.”
