Reflecting on 2025: Gratitude, Goodbyes, and the Strength of Community

Honoring a Year of Compassion and Service

As we wrap up the year, our team at the Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas is filled with gratitude. Gratitude for every volunteer who showed up with empathy. Gratitude for the programs that brought meaningful education, conversation, and connection to our community. Gratitude for the understanding and compassion shared daily with callers, survivors, families, and with one another on our team.

This year reminded us again that the heart of a crisis center is found entirely in the people who bring hope to those in their darkest moments.

Celebrating the Leadership of Margie Wright

This year also marks the close of a beautiful chapter under the leadership of our kind-hearted and passionate Executive Director, Margie Wright. With her retirement becoming official on December 31, 2025, we find ourselves reflecting on what her steady guidance and legacy have meant to SCC.

For 26 years, Margie has been the heart of this organization, boldly shaping its mission, uplifting its people, and ensuring every individual who called in our crisis hotline, walked in, or reached out felt seen and cared for.

Margie is beloved in the community. She has mentored countless staff and volunteers, always leading with compassion, humility, and a deep belief in the power of human connection.

Her impact lives in every training session delivered with care, every survivor supported with gentleness, and every program strengthened by her unwavering belief that people deserve to be heard and held through life’s most challenging moments.

Saying goodbye brings sadness, but it also brings deep appreciation for all she has built and the hope she has planted in the lives of so many.

Acknowledging the Challenges of the Season

This time of year carries its own emotional weight. The holidays bring joy for some, but for many, they also bring grief, complicated family dynamics, loneliness, financial strain, work stress, or the quiet ache of missing someone who should still be here.

You don’t have to feel joyful to be worthy of support. You are allowed to rest, to feel what you feel, and to take things one moment at a time. If this season feels heavy, you are not alone. Our crisis center is here for you, offering compassion, steadiness, and the hope that things can shift.

Looking Ahead with Hope

As we step into a new year, we carry gratitude for the chapter behind us and hope for the one still unfolding. Margie’s compassion, steadiness, and vision continue to guide how we serve, listen, and stand beside our community.

We move forward committed to visibility, connection, and making sure that every person who needs us knows support is within reach.

If you need someone to talk to, day or night, please call our crisis hotline at (214) 828-1000.

We’re here to listen.
