Community Education

Building Awareness through our Speakers’ Bureau

One of the goals of the Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas is to provide the community with information about suicide. Public awareness is an important aspect of successful crisis intervention. With this goal in mind, we have established a Speakers’ Bureau composed of experienced volunteers who offer an audience a unique perspective on suicide and prevention. Our speakers are trained to make presentations throughout the community to such groups as corporations, schools, agencies, service organizations, and churches.

The presentations include information about the center, warning signs for suicide, suicide awareness, prevention, and the survivors’ programs. Presentations can include panels of individuals who have lost someone to suicide and are willing to share their stories.
