Learn How to Respond Effectively
Our staff is available to provide in-depth training to groups that may need to learn effective crisis intervention skills. We provide consultation and in-service seminars to professional groups such as school counselors, hospital staff, social workers, and undergraduate and graduate classes at local universities.

The Suicide & Crisis Center is currently collaborating with the Dallas Police Department to provide training on the crisis model to hostage negotiators (Tactical Division). The Allen, Plano, Frisco, Mansfield, and Grapevine Police Departments as well as members of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service have been trained. The training enables the recipients to handle high-intensity crises in the most effective manner.
